About OCD When Taking Xanax or Klonopin
Both XANAX and KLONOPIN can play with your OCD – for the worse. Whenever you withdrawal from both Medications, you have to understand that OCD will be worse than before you started taking Klonopin. Just a fair warning. However, if you taper off very slowly, then you should be ok.
When I say very slowly, I have to emphasize the word slowly. I’m not talking about tapering off .25 mg per week – I’m talking about as little as .01 mg per week. You will need to get a pill cutter for starters. You also may want to go bacK to your doctor to have him/her lower your dose as well. For an example, if you are taking 2mg of KLONOPIN / XANAX and your at .25mg per dosage, you may ask the doctor to lower your dosage to a 1 mg.
I have stupidly try to go off KLONOPIN cold turkey (as well as XANAX) and found that my OCD has compounded with other withdrawal symptoms as well. Your asking for trouble if you do something like this.
Whatever mgs your taking, whether it is XANAX or KLONOPIN, please taper off very, very slowly. Personally, every dose that I’m taking for KLONOPIN is 1 mg. However, I’m shaving a little bit off the medication every time I’m taking it and I will be getting a pill cutter soon. I really think that is the answer of getting off of Benzos. There should be no rush. Most people have been on these meds for years – so what’s the hurry of getting off them?
If you are wondering how to get off xanax or Klonopin very slowly, then click the above link (“get off Xanax”). The trick is to taper off very slow and actually take a little more if you need it. There are other ways like meditation that can really help you as well – but the attitude you must have is one of persistence. You just can’t give up!
