How to Overcome "Crawling Skin" Symptom

Having the sensation of your skin crawling is somewhat common when you withdrawal from Klonopin. I’ve had happen to me at times and this symptom is a tough one to beat – however, I’ve pretty much overcome it. Here’s what works and doesn’t work (through some testing):

We’ll start with what doesn’t work. Using self-hypnosis doesn’t work that well – at least for me. When I am trying to relax and go into the “meditative state”, my body just can’t relax since I’m tingling everywhere (or skin crawling). I really don’t suggest meditation, at least not for skin crawling. What I’ve done in the past was exercise instead. Maybe 20 minutes on the bike – anything to get the blood moving. That usually does it.

There’s cases where some people allow the anxiety to wash all over and allow the symptom of “crawling skin” take over. This may have worked for some people, but I’ve personally tried the “let go” technique – it doesn’t work. However, I must stress, if one technique doesn’t work for one person, it may work for another. We are all created by God differently, so different things will work for different people. Who am I to say, don’t do this but do that to relieve symptoms? If something works for you, then more power to you.

One more thing. Another case that I came across. If you are constantly getting the skin crawling symptoms, you may want to try Magnesium Citrate supplements. You can probably pick this up at any GNC store. However, I wouldn’t purchase this from the internet – you really don’t know who your dealing with.

Magnesium Citrate is a chemical agent used as a laxative and it empties the bowel prior to colonoscopy (in which I personally had to go through myself). I haven’t used this for klonopin withdrawal, so I don’t know how effective this is. You probably should check it out – just more info I want to pass out to you. Let me know if it does work for you.
